DOLE-NCR OIC-ARD Atty. Benjo Santos Benvidez and the Mandaluyong City TIPC (MCTIPC) members from the Labor and Management sector joined the “Brigada Eskwela” project of the Department of Education (DepEd) on May 20, 2013.
“Brigada Eskwela” is a strong manifestation of the bayanihan system of the Filipinos. Parents, teachers, students, and the community join hands in cleaning up, repairing, renovatin and painting. the physical facilities of public schools all over the Philippines in preparation for the school opening in June.
The MCTIPC donated cleaning and painting materials to the Pedro P. Cruz Elementary School at Ma. Clara Street, Barangka Drive, Mandaluyong City. Mrs. Marvie R. Duran, the school principal together with the parents, teachers and students gladly accepted the donations. “This is the first time the MCTIPC and the DOLE-NCR participated in this kind of activity and we are inspired to do this again in the future. This is definitely not the last time that we will be putting on our working hands together to bring a better learning environment to the students,” said ARD Atty. Benavidez.
Present during the activity were OIC-Director Ma. Corazon Pepito, Ms. Antonia Ang, and Mr. Dexter Javier of the PAPAMAMARISAN Field Office. Joining them are Mr. Jojo Blanco of the Labor Affairs Office of Mandaluyong City; Mr. Jack Fortuno of Petron Corporation, Mr. Ed de Ocampo of Plastic Containing Packaging Corporation (PCPC); Messrs.Herminio Estrada, Roger Natividad and Domingo Cruz of Liberty Flour Mills; Mr. Albert Asuella of Packagemaker; Messrs. Fernando Cerilla and Dionisio Navarra of Avis Rent A Car; Mr. Arnold Revilloza of Creative Bakers and Ms. Rhowena Chavez of Rencor, Inc.
